Boiler Servicing- We will require access to all gas appliances, gas meters, the loft if the flue passes through it or you have a fire connected to a chimney. We kindly ask any boiler cupboards/cupboards etc are cleared out prior to our arrival. Any paperwork such as previous service sheets, appliance manuals are made available to us. Please do tell us prior to our visit if you know of any issues with the boiler.
There is information about what we do on a boiler service under "boiler service" tab. Sometimes extra works and costs are required. Below are a few common examples of what may crop.
We will always check with you and provide a cost before we do any additional work.
-
We test the central hearting system water as part of the service. As a result of our tests- inhibitor may be required (which we can usually do onsite for an extra £30), or you may need a system clean/powerflush.
-
An enhanced boiler service- some boilers like Worcester, may only need completely stripping down if the fan pressure/combustion is incorrect, or Vailiant boilers every 5 years or as required. Each boiler manufacture has different requirements, so until we are on site in front of your boiler, its hard to know.
-
Boiler faults that you may be unaware of, such as leaking Pressure Relief Pipes, leaks inside the boiler, damaged seals.
-
Problems with the flue, such as incorrectly bracketed, incorrectly sealed etc.
-
Gas leaks.
Responsible Persons-When doing works we require a responsible adult to be available just in case we find something unsafe, or a decision needs to be made. During a landlords checks we require a responsible person who can make decisions about the property to be contactable just in case we have an issue.
Parking- We require a space for our vans whist working. If you live in a residents parking area, then you would need to provide us with a parking permit.
General- In the course of our work, we may need to turn off valves, adjust rads, remove boiler parts, drain systems etc. If any of these items break/leak/block (due to age/condition etc) then this would be down to the customer to pay for the repair, and an appliance may be out of service untill the works can take place.
